ABOUT
What does Pinxit Luc mean? Pinxit (Latin) meaning "painted it". Luc (Latin) meaning "light". Although the correct Latin arrangement for "Painted by Light" would be Luc Pinxit, the reverse arrangement of words sounded better :).
The artist behind "Pinxit Luc" has degrees in political science but has been studying Art History since high school and minored in 19th and 20th century Art History and fine art processes during undergraduate studies. The artist has studied photography and television and film production/editing. The basic philosophy behind Pinxit Luc is simple: photos and art allow for a unique ability to describe the mind’s sky to others. Images have the ability to translate history and personal experience in a way that encourages others to assume ownership of the world, shed light on the most troubling problems, end struggles or inspire dreams. The artist still clings to the notion that we each have a fundamental stake in the world around us. An award-winning photographer, Pinxit Luc prefers to shoot nature, culture, and people simply going about their daily lives - all have been shaped by the forces of history, and each has the potential to influence and shape the future.
Pinxit Luc also produces paintings for fundraising and by commission on a very, very limited basis. Her paintings infuse street art, cartoon characters, collage, and abstract expressionism.
